The bin
A big pull-out bin right beside the sink, so plates get scraped on the way to the dishwashers. Open the cupboard door and pull the handle, and it glides out. Push it back and it closes softly on its own.

- Scraping plates straight in, right beside the sink
- Rubbish out of sight behind a cupboard door

- Cupboard door. Open it first.
- Handle. Pull it, and the bin slides out.
- Bucket. Keep rubbish below the rim, and don’t press it down.
- Soft-close runners. Push the bin back and they close it gently.

Keep it running smoothly
- Step 1: Keep rubbish below the rim, and don’t press it down — packing it in strains the runners and their screws.
- Step 2: If it won’t pull all the way out, pull firmly to the end once and close it again.
Emptying it is part of our clean.
