The fridge freezer
Samsung 427-litre bottom-mount fridge freezer (RB43DG6005B1SA)
The food fridge, with the freezer underneath and an ice tray you twist to empty. The control panel only lights up while a door is open, and it has no lock. If it seems stuck, it’s usually waiting for a door.

- Chilling the dessert and the platters ahead of time
- Ice for the drinks, made in the freezer
- The big shop kept cold all night, with the freezer below

- Door Alarm. Beeps if a door is left open. Please leave it on.
- Freezer. Steps the freezer colder or warmer.
- Temperatures. The freezer’s on the left, the fridge’s on the right.
- Fridge. Steps the fridge colder or warmer.
- Vacation. Lets the fridge warm up while it’s empty. Not for a party.
It only lights up while a door is open.

How to…
Change the temperature
- Step 1: Open a door so the panel lights up.
- Step 2: Press Fridge to step through the fridge temperatures, from 1 to 7°C.
- Step 3: Press Freezer to step through the freezer temperatures, from −15 to −23°C.
Samsung recommends 3°C for the fridge and −19°C for the freezer, and that’s where we leave them.

Make ice
- Step 1: Open the freezer and slide the ice tray open.
- Step 2: Fill it with drinking water up to the line marked inside the back of the tray, and slide it back.
- Step 3: Once it’s frozen, check the ice bucket is in place underneath, then twist the lever firmly clockwise until the tray twists.
- Step 4: To take the bucket out, twist it slightly and pull it towards you.
How long it takes depends on the freezer setting. Drinking water only — no juice or tea.

The fridge is beeping
- Step 1: Close the door properly. The alarm sounds when a door has been open for 2 minutes, and stops when it shuts.
- Step 2: Beeping with the doors shut and the display flashing means it’s warm inside. Press any button to quiet it, and tell us.
Please don’t press Door Alarm to stop it — that turns the alarm off for the next guests too.

- Door Alarm
Door alarm
Switches the open-door alarm on and off. Held for 3 seconds, it swaps °C and °F.
- Freezer
Freezer temperature
Steps through −15 to −23°C. Held for 3 seconds, it starts Power Freeze, a 50-hour fast freeze.
- Fridge
Fridge temperature
Steps through 1 to 7°C.
- Vacation
Vacation
Held for 3 seconds, it lets the fridge warm up to under 15°C. Not for a party.

Something’s not right
The panel is dark and the buttons do nothing.
It only lights while a door is open. Open one, then press.

The temperatures are in °F.
Hold Door Alarm for 3 seconds to switch back to °C.

The fridge doesn’t feel cold.
Check Vacation mode isn’t on — hold Vacation for 3 seconds to turn it off. Make sure nothing is blocking the vents at the back or stopping a door from shutting. Still warm? Tell us.

Frost on the inside walls.
A door isn’t closing properly. Move whatever is in the way.

The light inside is blinking.
A door has been open for 5 minutes. Close it.

Clicking, whirring, hissing, bubbling or cracking sounds.
All normal: the compressor starting and stopping, the fan, defrosting, and refrigerant moving.
