The big ovens
ASKO 60cm pyrolytic oven, Craft (OP8687A1)
Two big ovens side by side at waist height, so the roast and the sides cook together and nobody crouches to check them. Turn the function knob on the left to choose what the oven does, set it with the selection knob on the right, and press the confirm key (the tick) to start.
Good for
- The main and the sides in at the same time
- Meat cooked to how done you want it, with the probe
- A slow cook that turns into a hot finish on its own
- Plates warm and food held hot until everyone sits down
Where to find itCooking wall · waist height
- Function knob. Chooses what the oven does: cook, warm plates, keep food hot, defrost. Straight up is off.
- Screen. Shows what you’ve set, and the time left.
- Selection knob. Turn it to change a setting. Press it to move on to the next one.
- Touch keys. The light, a kitchen timer, extras like fast preheat, and the child lock. Every symbol is explained below.
- Confirm key. The tick. It starts the oven, and blinks when there’s something to confirm.
Both big ovens are the same, and the combi ovens above them work the same way.

The everyday way
- Step 1: Turn the function knob to Oven.
- Step 2: Turn the selection knob to choose how it heats. Hot air suits most things.
- Step 3: Press the knob to move on to the temperature, and turn it to set that.
- Step 4: Press the confirm key. With no time set, it cooks until you stop it.

How to…
Preheat fast
- Step 1: Set up the oven as usual — function and temperature — but don’t press the confirm key yet.
- Step 2: Press the plus key (the + in a circle), press the right navigation key until Fast preheat is highlighted, and press the confirm key. A small preheat icon appears by the clock.
- Step 3: Press the plus key to close the menu, then the confirm key to start.
- Step 4: Keep the food out. When the screen says The set temperature is reached. Please insert the dish, put it in and close the door — cooking starts on its own.
Fast preheat and a delayed start don’t work together.

Cook for a set time, then stop
- Step 1: After the temperature, press the selection knob again to reach COOKING TIME, and turn it to the hours and minutes you want.
- Step 2: Press the confirm key. The screen counts down and shows when it will finish.
- Step 3: When the screen reads FINISH l ENJOY, press the confirm key to finish — or press the right navigation key for Add extra time, or Gratin for a grill finish (it starts at 200°C).

Roast with the probe
Cook the meat to how done you want it in the middle, not to a clock. The oven stops itself when it gets there.
- Step 1: Unscrew the small metal cap at the front top corner of the right-hand oven wall, and plug the probe in.
- Step 2: Push the whole metal spike into the meat, clear of the elements.
- Step 3: Turn the function knob to Oven and set the function and oven temperature. Where the time would go, set the core temperature instead — anywhere from 30 to 100°C.
- Step 4: Press the confirm key. The screen shows the core temperature climbing, and you can change the target as you go.
- Step 5: When it gets there the oven stops and beeps; press any key to quiet it. The probe is extremely hot — use gloves — and screw the cap back on.
This is the oven’s own probe, the one with a plug. The cooktop’s wireless probe never goes in an oven.

Slow, then a hot finish
Up to three stages in one go, without standing over it.
- Step 1: Set up the first stage: function, temperature and time.
- Step 2: Press the plus key, move to Stage cooking with the right navigation key, and press the confirm key. Stage 1 fills in.
- Step 3: Move to stage 2, press the confirm key, set its function, temperature and time, and confirm to save it. A third stage works the same way.
- Step 4: Press the plus key to close the menu, then the confirm key to start.

Child lock is on — how to unlock
- Step 1: If every key just brings up Key lock is active, press and hold the lock key (the padlock) until it lets go.
Anything already cooking keeps cooking while the keys are locked, and the stop key still works.
Switch it off
- Step 1: Turn the function knob back to 0 at the top.
- Step 2: To turn the screen off too, press and hold the stop key (the X).
The fan keeps running for a while afterwards to cool the oven. That’s normal.
